At Kamp, we believe that true anonymity requires a highly secure and fair moderation framework. We do not rely on centralized, corporate algorithms that fail to understand local campus context. Instead, we use a student-consensus model called the Kamp Council.
1. The "Kamp Council" (Consensus-Based Moderation)
To ensure that moderators do not abuse their power (such as deleting posts due to personal rivalries, gossip, or political disagreements), Kamp utilizes a peer-consensus system:
- Student Moderators: Moderation is carried out by trained, active, and verified student volunteers on each campus.
- No Unilateral Actions: A single moderator cannot delete a post or ban a user. When a post is flagged 3 times by the community, it enters a moderation queue.
- Consensus Review: Multiple independent moderators from the same campus must review the flagged post and agree that it violates our guidelines before any removal or muting takes place.
2. Penalty & Warning Structure
Kamp operates a multi-level warning system for accounts that repeatedly violate guidelines:
- Warning (1st Offense): The post is hidden, and the user receives a warning notification on their active ghost profile.
- 24-Hour Mute (2nd Offense): The user's post is deleted, and their ability to post or comment is suspended for 24 hours.
- Permanent Ban (3rd Offense): The verified student cryptographic token is permanently blacklisted. The user's device signature is blocked, and they can never re-verify or rejoin Kamp.
Cult promotion, doxxing (releasing private photos or phone numbers), and threats of violence do not receive warnings. They result in an immediate and permanent account and device ban.
3. Appeal a Warning or Ban
If you believe your post was wrongly removed or your account was muted/banned in error, you can submit an appeal to our review team using the secure form below. We review appeals within 48 hours.
